My mother abandoned us when I was in Secondary School — Shatta Wale reveals

Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has finally opened up on why he abandons his mother.

In a recent live video, Charles Nii Armah Mensah has revealed a painful point in his life when his mother, Ms. Elsie Avemegah abandoned him and his father when he was just a first-year Senior Secondary School.

According to him, his father, during difficult times in his family won a contract to work far away in the United States and that was when his mother took the bold decision to abandon him.

He said that all efforts made by his father to bring her back proved futile.

“I am from a broken home. My mother left my father some time ago when we were young. When I was in SHS 1, we used to study 13 subjects and I didn’t have that mind for that. I hated it because my brain isn’t a factory. So I told my father and he wanted all of us to relocate to the states to be precise.

“He had a contract there and wanted all of us to move and settle there. My mother left my father. She left my father. She ditched and left all of that opportunity. She run from home and left us. My father tried to get her back, God is our witness,” he stated.

As to whether he has abandoned his mother as is been circulated Shatta Wale indicated that he takes care of everyone around him including his mother.

This comes after several news portals have reported about Shatta’s mother’s eviction from her East Legon apartments and supposed neglect.
